New Club Chaplain: Sebastian Pinn

We would like to welcome a new addition to the club for the 2020/21 season.

New Club Chaplain Sebastian Pinn.

Seb will join us when the season resumes and and he is looking forward to meeting everyone around the club and our supporters.

The club would like to thank Bill Sharp who has served the club as Chaplain for the last 5 years and latterly as Chairman and Director. Bill is moving onto an exciting new opportunity that I am sure he will announce soon, thanks Bill and good luck, we will see you at many Shire games soon we hope.

As an introduction to Seb we asked him to let us know a little about himself and his background.

Hello Everyone

My name is Seb (Sebastian) Pinn and I am the new appointed Chaplain to East Stirlingshire FC. I am 46 years young and married to my wonderful and caring wife Helen. We have two children in their twenties: Amy and Callum. Callum is married to Camilla and they added Mia, out grand daughter to the family 4 years ago.

My day job is in social housing as I am working for a local housing association based in Grangemouth. I used to work for over 20 years in hospitality, mainly in the luxury sector, in places like the QE2 cruise liner, Gleneagles Hotel and Cameron House.

I became a Christian in 2009; after I played and worked hard & doing things my way for most of my life, I found myself in a small Methodist church challenged by the Lord to try His way and after my return to Scotland from working down south in Surrey I joined the Christian Dunblane Fellowship.

I eventually had a calling to leave the luxury hospitality sector in 2016 and since then I work in the local community to help others. I also felt led to study Chaplaincy in an Institutional Context at Elim Theology College / University of Chester. I experienced chaplaincy in various settings like hospitals, workplaces and lately sport.

My passion is football, golf and sport in general and I was very fortunate to experience chaplaincy work at a football club for the last year by shadowing my minister at Stirling Albion FC.

Back home in Germany I follow my home team called Eintracht Braunschweig. I have to admit I was apprehensive of the idea for European football to finish their seasons in these different times and I was not a fan of football behind closed doors but the fact that my team got promoted back in the 2. Bundesliga made up for it.

But Braunschweig is far away and I felt honoured and humbled when I got the phone call from Andy Williamson, Club Director and Secretary at East Stirlingshire FC to welcome me on board to become part of this club’s family.

I look forward to meet the team, the staff and all supporters and families of East Stirlingshire FC. My role is to support all of them by being present, being available and praying.

Welcome to the Shire ⚫⚪⚫

Signing News: Craig Henderson

We welcome new signing Craig Henderson (19) to the squad for 2020/21

Attacking midfielder Craig has been full time at Premier League Livingston for the last 4 years and has had loan spells at Cumbernauld Colts and Cowdenbeath during that time.

Craig is the 3rd signing this week joining Gregg Wylde and Lee Hadden as Derek Ure shapes his squad in preparation for the return of football.

Welcome Craig ⚫⚪⚫

Signing News: Lee Hadden

The club are delighted to welcome Lee Hadden (21) to the squad for the 2020/21 season.

Winger Lee had broken into the Scotland Amateur team earlier this year scoring on his debut and was voted the Central Scotland Amateur league’s young player of the year with his club Wishaw High FP last season.

Lee may be a familiar face to some Shire diehards as he played and impressed during a reserve fixture last year.

Derek has been tracking Lee for a while and moved to sign up the highly rated player to bolster the squad for next season.

Welcome Lee ⚫⚪⚫

Gregg Wylde Signs For The Shire

The club are delighted to welcome Gregg Wylde (29) to the squad for the 2020/21 season.

The left sided defender/winger joins after a spell with Clyde last season.

Gregg started his professional career with Rangers before joining Bolton Wanderers. Moves to Plymouth Argyle, Millwall, Aberdeen, Morcambe, Bury, Northampton Town, St Mirren and Livingston followed over the next decade.

With over 90 Scottish premiership appearance, Europa Cup appearances and English Championship, league 1 & 2 appearances Gregg brings a wealth of experience at the very highest level. A Scottish Premier League winner and a Scottish League Cup winner, add 7 Scotland Under 21 caps and you can see why the player is much sought after.

The Shire link doesn’t just start here for Gregg with Dad Gordon a previous player and manager of the club and mum Evelyn having worked for the club in the late 80s.

Welcome Gregg. ⚫⚪⚫
