Player Update – Bobby Barr

East Stirlingshire have reached an agreement with Forfar Athletic for the transfer of Bobby Barr.

Bobby joined Shire in the summer from Dumbarton and has been an almost ever present in the team and was supporters man of the match last Saturday.

Manager Derek Ure and the club were keen to see Bobby extend his stay for another year but a suitable fee was agreed with Forfar which sees Bobby head immediately towards Station Park and SPFL league 1 football.

The club would like to thank Bobby for his efforts and professionalism while at the club and we wish him well with his new challange. Thanks Bobby.

Player Update – Marty Orr


Staying for another year is Marty Orr who last tonight signed an extension to his contract that sees him remain with the Shire next season.

Marty, who transfered from Largs Thistle to Shire last season, has quickly established himself at right back and has been one of Shire’s most consistent players this season.

Player Update – Reis Peggie


Reis last tonight finalised a deal that sees him extend his stay at Shire until the end of the 20/21 season.

The highly-rated versatile player has played in many positions already this season and the club are delighted he has chosen to stay.

Player Update – Jaime Gallagher

Last night the club and Midfielder Jamie Gallagher have reached a mutual agreement to release Jamie from his contract.

Jamie joined Shire during last season from Albion Rovers.

The club wish Jamie all the best for the future.

Shire met Peterhead tonight in a Closed Door Friendly at Dundee.

The final score was 0-4 in favour of Peterhead (0-1 at HT).

Player Transfer – Matty Flynn

East Stirlingshire and Kelty Hearts have today agreed a transfer fee for Matty Flynn which sees Matty move to Kelty with immediate effect.

Matty who had entered the last 6 months of his current contract had indicated his desire to accept an offer from Kelty for next season and both clubs sought to find an amicable solution for all parties concerned.

Matty has been a big character around the club since he joined in the summer and he leaves with best wishes from everyone at the club.

Signing News – Ross McLaughlin

Midfielder Ross McLaughlin has this morning signed a short term deal that sees him join the Shire squad. Ross had been released by Celtic at the end of last season and has featured successfully in a number of reserve matches for Shire this season.

McLaughlin was a highly-rated prospect from the Celtic academy but suffered a cruciate ligament tear back in 2016 and took 18 months to regain fitness.

The playmaker came off the bench during the 3-2 Glasgow Cup win over Rangers in April 2019.

Contract Extension – Sean Brown

Sean Brown last night finalised the paperwork that keeps him with the Shire until the end of 20/21 season. Sean was one of Derek’s first signings this season and the club are delighted that Sean has extended his stay.
