The nominations are out for the December Ladbrokes Shire Player of the Month.
Coach John Sludden has made his selections now it’s up to you to vote on who December’s star man should be.
The nominees for the December award are :
ANDY GRANT : During the month Andy made a transition to right-back following the arrival of on-loan central defender Michael Oliver and made a success of his positional switch, again forming part of a solid defence which conceded very few goals in the month and helped the team win games.
ANDY RODGERS : Andy’s December goals were vital in helping the team go through the month unbeaten. He has closed in on long-time top scorer for the season, David Grant, and he broke a club record in December by becoming the fifth Shire player to score a hat-trick in as many matches.
PAUL SLUDDEN : Paul won November’s Player of the Month award and he has not let his form dip at all. Paul scored in three of December’s four matches and got important goals too. His strike away at Vale of Leithen clinched victory in what had been a tight game and his first of two on Hogmanay against BSC Glasgow was the 100th scored in Shire league games so far this season.
DEREK URE : The skipper has had a consistent month of high level individual performances and that does nothing to take into account the important leadership qualities he gives on the field. In many ways he has been the driving force behind a successful month of results which have closed the gap at the top of the league.
These are the four players up for the December award. Now it’s up to the fans to decide on who the winner should be. We will be opening a poll on our Twitter page here to allow you to vote.
