BACK IN ACTION
Shire got their first match action in five weeks when the team faced Forfar West End Juniors in a closed-door game at Stirling University on Sunday afternoon.
A number of first team regulars got the chance to play in what was still a below full strength team.
"I was glad we had the chance to play because there were cobwebs all over the pitch that needed to be blow away," said coach Jim McInally.
"It was certainly a good work-out but it does go to show just how badly we required the chance to get out on a full-size pitch and play a game.
"And the added bonus was that their two best players were Scott Johnstone and Grant Lawson, who will come back to us when their run in the Junior Cup comes to an end."
The first teamers who missed the game will get the chance to play in another bounce game on Tuesday night.
