FANS DIG DEEP FOR CHARITY
Big hearted Shire fans responded brilliantly to a call to donate to the Yorkhill Children's Foundation at last night's home game with Elgin City.
Supporters were given free entry to the game and asked to donate at least some of the cash they saved at the turnstiles to the club's nominated charity this season.
A bucket collection inside the ground raised a superb £703 from supporters in less than an hour.
The Santander Bank has agreed to match that amount which means the Yorkhill Children's Foundation will benefit to the tune of £1,400 thanks to the fundraising efforts of last night.
Shire will continue to support the Foundation throughout the season. A percentage of the sales from our replica third strips will be donated and vice-chairman, Spencer Fearn, is participating in a number of half marathons this year with his sponsorship money going to the Foundation as well.
