ELGIN FOR FREE
East Stirlingshire FC has announced the re-arranged Irn Bru Scottish League Division Three match against Elgin City at Ochilview on Wednesday 10th February will offer free entry to all spectators.
Shire are making it a special fundraising match for the club's nominated charity, the Yorkhill Children's Foundation, and are asking people to donate the money they would normally spend at the turnstile to this worthy cause.
Special collecting buckets will be located inside Ochilview on the night.
Yorkhill Children's Foundation already benefits from a venture with the club whereby it gets a proportion of cash raised from sales of the Shire's replica third strip, which is adorned with the hospital's logo.
Also, Shire's vice-chairman, Spencer Fearn, will be running five half marathons this year to raise money for the hospital. Donations to this effort can be made by e-mailing rosie@lifeskillsolutions.net.
The Elgin match is the first of five postponed during the recent big freeze to be given a new date. The club is working hard to fix up dates for the other four. Any news will be posted on this website first.
Kick-off for the Elgin City clash is 7:45pm.
